Publicity is one of the fastest ways to grow your business. Yet, the world of media can seem like a mystery. If you’re a business owner, service provider, or entrepreneur who knows that you could take your business to the next level if you only had publicity and a wider reach, this 4-week bootcamp will teach you the process.

As a business owner or expert in your field, you’re already one step ahead of the game because the media wants your insight and your story. This 4-week program is designed to give you as much information as possible and empower you to pitch and get the attention of the media on your own without the need for a PR rep.

Once you learn these skills, you’ll have them in your back pocket forever. Even if you pivot your business or start a new one, you’ll be able to recreate these steps to identify and connect with the right media outlets to connect with the clients you want to reach.

This course is for you if:

  • You know your business could have a bigger impact if only more people know about it

  • You have tons of stories and ideas but don’t know the first thing about how to get them published

  • You know your business needs more exposure but aren’t sure what the right outlets are that will lead to clients — or how to get published in them

This course isn’t for you if:

  • You prefer to hire a Public Relations agency to get you publicity

  • You aren’t interested in being creative or using storytelling when it comes to sharing the message of your business or what you do

Here’s what we will do together:

  • Get super clear on how to communicate your business story to the media

  • Identify your media goals based on the clients you want to serve and create a media strategy based on media outlets you want to be featured in

  • Instruction on how to turn your expertise into concrete story ideas you can send directly to publications

  • Next steps for how to continue to gain media and publicity in the long term

We will meet:

  • Thursday, February 20 from 6pm - 7:30pm EST

  • Thursday, February 27 from 6pm - 7:30pm EST

  • Thursday, March 6 from 6pm - 7:30pm EST

  • Thursday, March 13 from 6pm - 7:30pm EST

In between, you’ll be able to ask questions and learn from the other people in your group.

Syllabus:

  • As a business owner, you can craft your media goals to meet the overall goals of your business. You know your business and your ideal clients better than anyone, which is a great position to be in to make these decisions. Before we start putting together stories to send to the media, we will get really clear on what your publicity goals are. This will serve as a north star for your publicity efforts.

  • Now that we know what type of publicity you want, we’ll work together to create a personalized media strategy with the different outlets you want to appear in.

  • Once you know the outlets you want to appear in, the next step is figuring out what to send them. Here’s where we’ll dive into how to turn your expertise and knowledge into stories that will capture the media’s attention.

  • We’ll cover the long-term steps to take to reach your publicity goals.ption

“Before working with Leeron, I submitted 15 pitches and heard back from zero. Once I followed Leeron's direction, I received replies on my first and second pitches—amazing! I only wish I had worked with her sooner.”

About Leeron

My name is Leeron and for the past 10 years, I’ve been a writer for online publications. I’ve been published in places like Salon, the Village Voice, the Observer, Business Insider, Popular Mechanics, Apartment Therapy and many more. Along the way, I learned a lot about how the media works.

Which stories get attention? What kinds of stories are editors looking for? What makes an editor get back to your story idea within 7 minutes and say YES? So I’m sharing what I’ve learned with entrepreneurs who want publicity to reach — and help — more people.
